Randi Speaks...And No One Basically Listens

I recently received a tape where Randi Weingarten went on for 38 minutes about changes she proposes.
Someone ought to remind Ms. Weingarten that she works for the teachers. She never mentioned anything in her speech about recalcitrant children who disrupt classes on a daily basis.
Ms. Weingarten, you are receiving 3 pensions for the limited services you have performed. Isn't it time you started looking out for teachers?
Why aren't you proposing the return of the 600 school concept for unruly children? Why not work-study programs for older, disruptive children?
You must be living on Mars when you call for committees to analyze teacher lesson plans. You can have the best lesson plans in the world, but if there are disruptive recalcitrants around, forget the lesson. Naturally, you and your cohorts don't realize this due to the limited time you all spent in the classroom.
When your term ends, you should be made to return to the classroom and work under the conditions that you have created. For sure, this would be a close encounter of the worst kind.

The Devil at 6 O'Clock

Gov. Paterson gets the joke award of the year. He is ready to cut education funding, but at the same time wants to keep schools open until 6P.M. each day. Who is going to spend the extra time with students? Too many are already literally bouncing off the walls by the end of each school day.
Don't teachers have personal lives? They have enough work to take home with them. We don't need the extra baby-sitting. When are parents expected to see their children? Between grade and school-wide conferences and other performances of duty, when do you expect teachers to come home each night? Do you want the younger children out in the cold, dark streets at winter-time? This January is a perfect example of what I'm talking about.
As a life-long Democrat, I shall most probably not be voting for Gov. Paterson. Eliot Spitzer, who showed immorality in his personal life, showed poor judgment when he chose you for a running mate.

The Redding Fruitcake

As if the public schools don't have enough problems to contend with, along comes Merry Hyatt, a fruitcake who currently resides in northern California.
Miss Fruitcake refuses to accept the idea of separation of church and state. Instead, she wants to ram down our throats her religious values. She would be the first to rightfully protest if we dared to inculcate our religious values on her.
The nerve of this modern day Salem Witch to state that children of other religions should go to other rooms if they don't want to participate in Christmas activities in their classroom. Who the hell is she to impose segregation on other children?
Miss Fruitcake-Hyatt, school is for the inclusion of all children, NOT the exclusion which you are advocating. Don't you realize the hurt you would cause children of other religions to be subjected to? Where are your brains? Apparently, they're where you sit.
You are nothing more than a frustrated spinster, afraid of life, who has gone into your own little world. You refuse to respect other people's culture and want yours to dominate instead. Every principal you ever worked for probably couldn't wait to unload you.
You ought to consider moving to Mars as soon as possible.

A Joking Carroll

Thomas Carroll, whose articles have been appearing in the N.Y. Daily News and Post, is joining the group of anti-UFT people.
Mr. Carroll, as an example, look at all the money that the Charter School heads are making. Case in point: Eva Moskowitz. No wonder she tangled with the UFT.
Mr. Carroll, the public schools must accept all children including the most disruptive and emotionally disturbed youngsters. Am sure that if a recalcitrant carries on in a charter school, they get bounced quickly.
While our class sizes in public schools remain high, all you need is for 1 disruptive brat to be in there, and the class is ruined.
Why doesn't Mr. Carroll and all his followers try teaching in one of our many SURR schools? Let him and others view the lawlessness that goes on in the halls. Let him hear the yelling, the screaming, children running amok, fights breaking out, smoke bombs placed under the doors, the constant ringing of fire alarms, and bulletin boards set on fire. See what goes on in the classroom. What I just mentioned plus urinating and defecating in closets, along stairwells, and in the classroom radiators. You ought to take a whiff of that stench.
Instead of calling for work-study programs and the revival of the 600 school concept for the unruly, you and others find it much easier to blame the UFT for the ills of society.

March of the Animals

Just before The Day of Atonement, an animal group from Kansas is coming to Brooklyn to march against the Jewish people. We can only pray that they will drop dead before Yontif. Amen.
What do they want from us? They belong in Germany of the 1930s. We will not take your nonsense.
Could you imagine if anyone ever demonstrated near their house of worship?
These animals are lower than pigs.

Run Off Day After Day of Atonement-How Stupid Can We Get?

The run-off for Comptroller and Public Advocate has been scheduled for the day after the Day of Atonement. How stupid can we get to schedule this a day after a major Jewish holiday? They should have waited until Thursday, Oct. 1.
Where are the absentee ballots for the run-off?
